Professional credentials are widely recognized as the standard for ensuring competency. Specific credentials for IONM are CNIM (Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring) and D. ABNM (Diplomate of the American Board of Neurophysiologic Monitoring). These qualifications include training in not just one modality, but all of the various intraoperative modalities frequently used in IONM. IMI has developed a highly sophisticated training and continuing education program that includes online, didactic and hands-on components to ensure that our neurophysiologists and supervising physicians are thoroughly trained and qualified.

Among our more than 100 neurophysiologists, many have advanced degrees and most have a minimum of CNIM or “in process” CNIM certification. In addition, IMI neurophysiologists undergo extensive internal training and continuing education programs. We also work with a number of universities to provide fellowship training sites for audiology students. These relationships have resulted in IMI attracting “the best and brightest” neurophysiologists who are already trained and are eager to be employed upon graduation.
