AT Techniques
IMI clinical staff joins the surgical team in the operating room to provide autotransfusion services before and during surgical
procedures. Using the medical industry's most trusted equipment, such as Cell Saver® and OrthoPAT®, the blood lost during
and after surgery is collected, cleaned and recycled back into the patient's body as needed. Hence, the risk of allergic reaction
is drastically reduced, even after surgery, since all of the blood in the patient's body is the patient's own.
IMI provides the following autotransfusion services:
- Intraoperative Cell Salvage whereby the blood lost in surgery is recovered and prepared for return to the patient.
- Post-operative Cell Salvage where blood is recovered after surgery and prepared for return to the patient.
- Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) / Autologous Platelet Gel (APG) is a by-product of blood (plasma) that is rich in platelets. Platelet Rich Plasma is collected by drawing the patient's blood, which is then spun down to separate the red blood cells, plasma and concentrate the platelets.
- Fibrin Glue which is also created through process of drawing and spinning the patient's blood.
IMI uses the following autotransfusion technology:
