Kevin McCarthy, CNIM
The Director of Training is an accomplished neurophysiologist with multiple research publications in both scientific journals and collegiate textbooks. Kevin has been performing complex intraoperative monitoring for over 13 years. Much of his experience and training is derived from Yale University, where he worked with Dr. Dennis Spencer, the Harvey and Kate Cushing Professor of Neurosurgery and Chair of Neurosurgery. Kevin is responsible for providing training and education for all IMI clinical neurophysiologists and collaborating directly with ANA. He is also involved in several research projects related to intraoperative neuromonitoring,
Richard O'Brien, M.D. FRCP (C) MBADr. O'Brien gained his MD in 1982 from the University of Western Ontario and has been active in clinical neurology since 1990. He holds board certifications from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in both Internal Medicine and Neurology, as well as an MBA from Simon Fraser University. He has over 16 years of clinical experience in electromyography and is an active member of the American Society of Neurophysiologic Monitoring. He is also experienced in applicable computer technology and in developing and implementing professional data reporting systems. Until recently, he served as the Chief of Neurosciences at the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, British Columbia. Currently, he serves as the Director of Education for American Neuromonitoring Associates,(ANA) our sister company, collaborating with IMI in development of quality assurance programs and is involved in several research projects.
