SURGEONS )))) Why IONM

IONM adds a critical method of protecting your patients from inadvertent operative harm. There is a significant body of literature now suggesting that IONM reduces complications in a number of operative situations. In fact, it has now become standard of care for corrective scoliosis operations.

Beyond simply warning of impending complications, monitoring can also  provide you with a level of comfort in extending a procedure to a greater degree than you would have without it.

Some patients can receive procedures with monitoring that would have been considered too risky without monitoring. Also, patients' families can receive some reassurance that complications are being screened for carefully during the procedure.

IONM techniques and equipment have improved significantly in the last 20 years, making neurophysiological monitoring more accessible to surgeons and patients.
